Implementasi Tepung Okra Terhadap Kadar Kolesterol Total pada Tikus Putih Model Hiperkolesterolemia
Abstract
Hypercholesterolemia is one of cause in heart disease with high levels of cholesterol total. Okra (Albelmoschus esculantus) in the form of flour contain fibers high and more bioactive compound such as flavonoids. This research was conducted to know the effec of okra flour against the cholesterol totallevels in rat models Hypercholesterolemia. Design of the research was true experimental with control group (Pretest-Posttest with Control Group).Animal experimental used male white rats (Rattus novergicus) which age of8-10 weeks with body weight of 150-200 gr were divided into 4 groups. Rats made Hypercholesterolemia used HFD feed at a doses 4mg/100 gr BW for 14 days. Hypercholesterolemia rats given standart feed and okra flour with different doses it was groups positive control (KP) not given flour okra, okra flour doses 0.09 gr/200 gr BW (P1), okra flour doses 0.18 gr/200 gr BW (P2), and okra flour doses 0.36 gr/200 gr BW (P3) for 10 days. The data was analyzed using One Way ANOVAdanpaired t-test. The result showed that experimental rats on P3 groups have effect to decrease of total cholesterol levels (P = 0,014) as compared to the other groups.
