Abstract

One of the purposes of MDGs is fighting againts HIV/AIDS, malaria ailment, and others (the 6th of MDGs), by controlling the spreading of the virus and decreasing the new case of HIV/AIDS. Efforts to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS are increasingly important in Indonesia because this country is in the top three with the fastest growing number of HIV/AIDS cases in the world. The efforts taken are closely related to the knowledge of sexual behaviour. 70-80% of the average HIV infection in countries around the world occurs through unprotected or risky sexual intercourse. The research obtains that most of the students in SMA Argopuro have a lack of knowledge about condoms. The average knowledge of female respondents about condoms (35.56) is lower than male respondents with an average knowledge score (39.12). Based on the Independent T-test examination to find out the difference of knowledge on female and male respondents, there is p= 0,033 with value α = 0,05 because p <α meaning that there is a difference on the knowledge of male and female respondents.
