Penanaman Moralitas dan Nilai-Nilai dalam Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris

This paper reports a study investigating the perspectives of students of vocational higher education on the English language learning experiences and to which extent they perceived the significance of values to be nurtured within the English Language Education programs. As a part of an overarching research, this paper will focus on a need analysis of values to be incorporated and integrated into the English teaching and learning process within the setting of a vocational higher education in Indonesian context. It comprises a survey employing questionnaire to 213 students of a vocational higher education. The data taken were descriptively analysed to reveal the reality of needs related to what, why and how values might relevantly be included and integrated in ELT (English Language Teaching). Findings indicate that the students’ perspective demanded values to be included through the ELT materials and teachers’ instructional and regulative agendas particularly those related to living in the global socio-cultural contexts, and for professional and entrepreneurship purposes.
