Multipikasi Tanaman Iles – Iles (Amorphophallus Mulleri Blume ) Secara In Vitro Sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Produksi Pangan Lokal

Abstract

Iles-iles (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) is a type of tuber plants from the Araceaea tribe that has the potential to be developed into a food diversification material. Iles-iles has the potential and prospect to be developed further because the content of glucomannan compounds has high economic value. Iles-iles propagation takes a long time to require an alternative to multiplication with tissue culture. The process of propagation in vitro uses several plant growth regulators  (PGR) to spur the growth of microcrops of iles-iles plants. In this research, PGR used is BAP and IAA. Research on the use of PGR BAP and IAA aims to accelerate the emergence of shoots and roots and to know and interaction between the two types of PGR on the proliferation of iles - iles in vitro. This research has been conducted for 2 months since August until October 2017. The research place is in Tissue Culture Laboratory, State Polytechnic of Jember. This study was conducted using a complete randomized design (RCD) factorial with 2 factors, 9 treatments, and 5 replications. The first factor is PGR BAP consists of 3 levels that is 1, 3 and 5 ppm. The second factor is PGR IAA consists of 3 levels ie 0 ppm, 0.4 ppm, 0.8 ppm. The results showed that BAP 1 mg / l was able to increase the number of roots and PGR BAP 3 mg / l was able to increase the number of buds in the multiplication of iles-iles plant in vitro. IAA 0.4 mg / l was able to increase the number of roots on the multiplication of iles-iles plants in vitro.
