Communicative Activities Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Survival English Anggota English Club Politeknik Negeri Jember
Abstract
The ability to communicate in foreign languages is very important and needed in today's modern and global society. Within the scope of the Jember State Polytechnic, English is not only taught in curricular activities but also in extracurricular activities. The extracurricular activities aim at developing students’interests and talents. One the them is the English Club. To improve the speaking ability of its members, training and learning activities based on communicative activities and the student-centered learning method, namely roleplaying, were conducted with a focus on improving their Survival English skills. The assessment conducted after the training showed a significant average increase. This showed that survival English training using role play method could effectively improve the students’ speaking skill (English for survival).References
