Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary inclusion of Moringa leaf meal (MLM) on the growth performance of male quails. A total of 160 male day-old quails were randomly distributed into two dietary treatments with eight replications of 10 birds each. The treatments consisted of a control diet (0% MLM) and a diet containing 5% MLM. Parameters evaluated included cumulative feed intake, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) during the 42-day trial period.  Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results showed that dietary inclusion of 5% MLM had no significant effect (p>0.05) on feed intake, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio compared with the control group. These findings indicate that MLM can be included in quail diets at a level of up to 5% without adverse effects on performance. Moreover, the inclusion of MLM reduced feed cost compared to the control diet, suggesting its potential as a cost-effective alternative protein ingredient in quail nutrition.
