Authorship Criteria

J-Dinamika: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat recognizes authorship as an important academic responsibility that reflects an individual's substantial intellectual contribution to the conception, implementation, evaluation, analysis, or reporting of a community service activity. Authorship must be based on genuine scholarly contributions to the work submitted for publication and must not be assigned solely on the basis of academic position, institutional affiliation, seniority, financial support, or administrative responsibility.

All individuals listed as authors must meet the journal's authorship criteria, approve the final manuscript, and accept accountability for their respective contributions and the integrity of the work as a whole.

1. Authorship Eligibility

To qualify for authorship, each author must have made a substantial contribution to the community service activity or the preparation of the manuscript through one or more of the following activities:

  • Conceiving or designing the community service program, intervention, or implementation approach.
  • Planning or carrying out the community service activities, including technology implementation, training, counseling, mentoring, or community empowerment.
  • Collecting, organizing, analyzing, or interpreting relevant data and evidence from the implementation or evaluation of the activity.
  • Developing the manuscript, critically revising its intellectual content, or providing substantial scholarly interpretation of the outcomes.
  • Approving the final version of the manuscript before submission or publication.
  • Accepting accountability for the author's own contributions and cooperating in resolving questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, or reliability of the work.

Authorship requires a substantive intellectual contribution and must not be based solely on routine administrative assistance, general supervision, funding acquisition, provision of facilities, or participation in community activities without a corresponding scholarly contribution. Individuals who contribute to the work but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately, with their consent.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

All authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted manuscript accurately represents the community service activities and their outcomes. Authors must:

  • Ensure that the manuscript is original, accurate, and prepared in accordance with the journal's submission guidelines and publication ethics.
  • Ensure that the description of the target community, implementation methods, activities, results, and conclusions is supported by appropriate evidence.
  • Provide accurate author names, affiliations, email addresses, and other requested metadata.
  • Disclose relevant conflicts of interest, funding sources, and other information required by the journal.
  • Ensure that any necessary permissions, informed consent, and ethical approvals have been obtained where applicable, particularly when activities involve identifiable individuals, personal data, photographs, or vulnerable communities.
  • Respond appropriately to editorial and peer-review comments and cooperate with the journal if questions arise after publication.
  • Ensure that the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal and has not been published previously, except where the journal's policies explicitly permit the relevant material.

3. First Author and Corresponding Author

The first author is generally the individual who has made the leading contribution to the work and manuscript preparation, as agreed upon by the authors. The order of authors should reflect the relative contributions of the individuals involved and must be agreed upon by all authors before submission.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial office throughout submission, peer review, revision, and publication. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript, agreed to the author list and order, and authorized the submission.

The corresponding author is also responsible for coordinating responses to editorial queries, communicating relevant decisions and revisions to co-authors, and ensuring that requested declarations and supporting documents are submitted accurately. Designation as corresponding author does not exempt other authors from their individual responsibilities.

4. Author Contributions

J-Dinamika encourages transparent reporting of individual contributions to promote accountability and recognize the work performed by each author. Where applicable, authors should describe their contributions using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) framework or another contribution statement required by the journal.

Relevant contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, project administration, supervision, validation, visualization, writing of the original draft, and review and editing. The contribution statement should accurately reflect the work performed by each author.

Community partners, local organizations, facilitators, technical personnel, and other individuals who contribute to the activity should receive appropriate acknowledgment when they do not meet the journal's authorship criteria. Their contributions must be described accurately and acknowledged with their permission.

5. Changes in Authorship

Any request to add or remove an author or change the order of authors after submission must be justified in writing and approved by all authors affected by the proposed change. The corresponding author must submit the request to the editorial office, including the reason for the change and written confirmation of agreement from all authors.

The editorial team may suspend manuscript processing while the request is evaluated. Changes in authorship will not be accepted solely to accommodate honorary authorship, resolve an undocumented disagreement, or recognize contributions that do not satisfy the journal's criteria.

After publication, requests to change the author list or author order will be considered only when supported by a valid explanation and appropriate evidence. Any correction will be handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics and correction procedures.

6. Authorship Misconduct

J-Dinamika does not permit practices that undermine the integrity of authorship, including:

  • Gift or honorary authorship: listing an individual who has not made a qualifying scholarly contribution.
  • Ghost authorship: omitting an individual who has made a substantial contribution that warrants authorship.
  • Unauthorized authorship changes: adding, removing, or rearranging authors without the required agreement.
  • False contribution statements: misrepresenting the roles or contributions of authors.
  • Disputed or misleading authorship claims: providing inaccurate information about an individual's involvement in the work.

Suspected authorship misconduct may be investigated by the editorial team, which may request supporting documents or clarification from the authors and, where appropriate, their affiliated institutions. Depending on the findings and the stage of publication, the journal may reject the manuscript, suspend editorial processing, request a correction, or take other appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics policies.

7. Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, originality, and ethical compliance of a scholarly work. Human authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted to J-Dinamika, including material generated or assisted by AI tools.

Where the use of generative AI is subject to disclosure under the journal's AI policy, authors must provide a transparent statement describing the tool used and its purpose. AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, invent references, misrepresent community service activities, create misleading evidence, or conceal the actual contributions of the authors.

Further requirements concerning acceptable AI use, disclosure, and prohibited practices are governed by the journal's Generative AI Use Policy.

8. Agreement to Authorship Criteria

By submitting a manuscript to J-Dinamika, the corresponding author confirms that all listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria, have approved the submitted version, agree to the author list and order, and accept responsibility for their contributions. Authors are expected to resolve authorship arrangements fairly and transparently before submission.

J-Dinamika reserves the right to request clarification or supporting documentation when necessary to verify authorship and protect the integrity of the publication process.
