Household waste management and used cooking oil waste remain common environmental problems in communities. Limited knowledge regarding waste segregation and the utilization of household waste contributes to environmental pollution and potential health risks. This community service program aimed to improve community knowledge regarding household waste management and enhance the skills of health cadres in converting used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles. The methods employed included educational counseling using leaflets, demonstrations, and hands-on training in aromatherapy candle production. The program was conducted in Banteng Hamlet and involved health cadres and local community members as participants. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge following the household waste management education program, with the average score improving from 63.14 to 84.57. In the aromatherapy candle-making training, the average score increased from 61.62 to 88.87. In addition to improving knowledge, the program successfully enhanced participants’ skills in transforming used cooking oil into a useful product with potential economic value. These findings indicate that practice-based education and training are effective in improving community capacity in household waste management and supporting community empowerment efforts in the field of environmental health.
