Abstract

The utilization of agricultural waste as construction material is an appropriate technology approach to support sustainable development and a circular economy. This community service program aimed to empower the community of Labanasem Village, Banyuwangi Regency, through the use of rice husk ash as an additive in paving block production and to improve local road infrastructure. The program included road condition surveys, mix design development, technical training, and participatory paving block installation. The results indicate increased community skills and participation, as well as improved road accessibility. The use of rice husk ash supports the zero waste concept and provides added economic value. Synergy between higher education institutions, village government, and the community proved effective in delivering sustainable solutions for environmental and infrastructure challenges.
